What is health insurance and how it works in the United States?

Health insurance is a type of insurance that covers a person's medical and health care expenses. In the United States, there are different types of health insurance available, including private insurance that can be purchased through an insurance company, employer-sponsored insurance, and Medicare, which is a government program for people over 65 years old and some people with disabilities.

When a person has health insurance, they can receive medical care from healthcare providers that are within their insurance network. The person will pay a monthly premium to the insurance company, and in return, the insurance company will cover part or all of the costs of the medical services they receive. In some cases, the person will have to pay a copayment or deductible before the insurance starts to cover the costs.

It's important to note that health insurance in the United States does not cover all medical costs and that people may still have to pay a significant amount of money for their medical bills even if they have health insurance. That's why it's important to carefully read the fine print of any health insurance policy and understand what is and isn't covered before purchasing a policy.
